Hot Nights in the City: Kim Kardashian

Hot Nights in the City: Kim Kardashian by curvylook

This peplum top from OneStopPlus is so great; ultra-flattering on the curvy girl, and only $20! Balanced out with a sexy mini from Forever 21 (also just $20!) and a simple strappy heel, this look from Kim Kardashian is so sleek and sexy!

Into the Wild: Jessica Biel

Today's curvy look for less comes from newlywed Jessica Biel. Side note: this girl is definitely a trendsetter because the wedding dress she wore for her Italian wedding to Justin Timberlake was pink!

Anyway, this curvy look is so perfectly casual for fall. I love the bright orange tee topped with a basic black blazer. A blazer is without a doubt the perfect transition piece for cooler weather; throw it over anything and it instantly elevates a look and this one from Old Navy is only $30. And I am a sucker for anything animal print, and those flats (a steal for $18!) just perfectly tie together the black blazer and the orange top. Throw on a basic black bag and you're so ready for coffee with the girls or a weekend morning at the farmer's market.

A Hint of Mint: Chrissy Teigen

Sleeveless top / Blazer / Plus size pants / Kelsi Dagger wedge shoes / Quilted tote / With Love From CA chevron necklace

I love this edgy look from Sports Illustrated model Chrissy Teigen. That Tiffany blue blazer is calling my name! It's the perfect transition piece for cooler weather- the pretty pastel shade is a nod to summertime, but the blazer is entirely practical for cooler temps because it's wool (a wool blazer for $35 is such a steal!). Also if you're a DIY kind of gal like me, you could totally get some fabric glue and add black trim to the lapel like Chrissy's version. (I've used fabric glue and it's totally permanent and waterproof). Adding personal touches to your mainstream clothing is the easiest way to get a designer look for cheap!

And I can personally vouch for those jeggings; they're made of french terry and literally the most comfortable pair of pants I've ever owned, but they have all the details of a pair of jeans. And of course they are super-flattering! The original price is $55, but with an online coupon I got them (and a red pair) for $32! Best $32 I've ever spent and I know I will wear them over, and over, and over!.

Spinning into Butter: Sarah Jessica Parker

Print dress / Worthington lightweight jacket / Not Rated strappy sandals / ALDO / Yellow gold ring / Fantasy Jewelry Box silver jewelry

An exercise in opposites, I fell madly, truly, deeply the second I laid eyes on this outfit of one of my fashion favorites, Sarah Jessica Parker, at a Burberry Prorsum fashion show in London. The brown on brown is statement-making, and the entire look is a contrast of sweet and edgy. And those sexy, strappy sandals! My heart skips a beat every time I look at them! The buttery soft leather jacket is so on trend and adds that extra bit of warmth on a windy fall day. Throw on a few oversized baubles and contrast with a sweet bag for a seriously chic look.

Rachel Pally Plus Collection

Rachel Pally slip dress / Rachel Pally white dress / Short dress / Rachel Pally white dress

Have you seen the new Rachel Pally plus collection? Budget-friendly it is not, but there are some beautiful dresses that would make for a great splurge if you've got a special event coming up. The collection is made up primarily of caftan dresses, with a few skirts and tops thrown in.

I love the dresses in this line because they are made for the curvy girl- the necklines flatter a fuller bust and the waist and hemlines hit at just the right place. And the prints are right on trend! The Rachel Pally collection is available at Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, and the designer's website.

Fallspiration: Oversized Scarf DIY

I've recently become obsessed with this picture of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for oh-so-many reasons. This is my perfect, casual fall outfit; lots of layers with a neutral palette. Doesn't it look so perfect for a fashionable, crisp fall day? I've got the aviators, I've got the soft, brown leather bag; a grey tee and black jacket? Done. What I need is that deliciously oversized grey scarf. That scarf that could double as a shawl, or you know, a blanket for a football game? Maybe not, but I need it.

But because I am ever the fashionista on a budget, I shudder to think of the price tag on that generously sized scarf (I found a similar one online for $138, or you can go super-luxe with YSL and pay $980; either way, both are out of my budget). So I hit the fabric store. 30 minutes of browsing aisles and caressing fabrics later and I walked out with 3 yards of matte jersey in a to-die-for grey leopard print, because a little animal print makes everyone's day a little brighter. So 3 yards is a lot, but you need a lot for a scarf that yummy. Did I also mention that I don't sew? I can hand sew a few stitches, but I am a mediocre crafter who doesn't own a sewing machine, so I'm reduced to finding fabrics that don't fray, and luckily, jersey doesn't, and it's incredibly soft. So because this fabric doesn't fray, that means you've got a ready-to-go scarf as soon as you walk out of the fabric store. It will be pretty wide, but that's what gives the scarf all that great volume.

The best part? The jersey was on sale for 40% off, so 3 yards cost me less than $15! My scarf isn't quite as long as Rosie's; it hits right around the waist area, so if you want it even longer, opt for 3.5 or even 4 yards. (Or you could be super-crafty and buy 2 yards, cut it in half lengthwise and sew the pieces end to end to give yourself 4 yards of fabric, but being that I am not super-crafty and lacking a sewing machine, I didn't go that route).

Good luck budget babes, and remember next time you're itching to add a new scarf to your wardrobe, consider hitting the fabric store first to save money and get exactly the look you want.

Purple Persuasion: Freida Pinto

Old Navy babydoll shirt / Forever 21 knit jacket / A.N.A low rise skinny jeans / MICHAEL Michael Kors platform wedge heels / Black handbag / Cateye sunglasses / MNG by Mango

This outfit from Freida Pinto is beyond exciting; it's that perfect fall casual look that I can see myself scurrying around the streets in running weekend errands. The colored denim skinnes are right on trend (and for $30 I feel like I should grab a few pairs in different colors!), and she pairs a girly feminine heel with an edgy moto jacket. The one-shoulder top adds an extra bit of interest, and a great black bag and oversized sunnies are every girl's best friend.
